Build Your Portfolio—Learn Beyond the Classroom
|

- Use your LBC reports when preparing for interviews or writing applications for internships, jobs, and graduate and professional schools.
- There are many pursuits in which you can take part that are eligible for LBC points. Take a look at the tables that are on the CoS website (http://www.science.purdue.edu/lbc) or at the LBC BrightSpace site (https://purdue.brightspace.com) to determine whether what you want to do/have done fits the criteria.
- If you have submitted a report, check and see if you have been asked to supply more information. If you find that you have received “0” points on a report, click on your score and you will see what questions you have been asked to answer. Resubmit your report with the required information so that your LBC points can be update.

tutoring program to help students succeed in first year science courses
in MATH, BIOLOGY, and CHEMISTRY. Our goal is to help you develop problem-solving skills needed to do your homework. COSINE offers evening tutoring right in your own backyard – or online
via Zoom. For optimal tutoring results, bring your text books and class
notes.

Jose Antonio Vargas is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist,
Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and Tony-nominated producer. Vargas rose to
prominence in 2011 with his groundbreaking essay in the New York Times Magazine,
which revealed and chronicled his life as an undocumented immigrant. In
2012, he penned a follow-up essay and appeared with other undocumented
immigrants on the cover of Time Magazine.
Since then, Vargas has written several books, including his best-selling memoir, Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen. He also produced and directed Documented, an autobiographical documentary that received an NAACP Image Award nomination, directed White People,
an Emmy-nominated television special on what it means to be young and
white in a demographically changing America, and co-produced the
Tony-nominated play What the Constitution Means to Me.
Vargas is also the founder of the non-profit media and culture
organization Define American, a culture change organization that uses
the power of narrative to humanize conversations about immigrants and
advocating within news, entertainment, and digital media to create an
America where everyone belongs. |

The virtual Spring Undergraduate Research Conference is April 12-19, 2021. This annual judged event is Purdue's largest celebration of undergraduate research with 350+ presentations and judges from all disciplines at Purdue. Plan to watch the presentations to learn what projects are currently being conducted by Purdue undergrads.
If you are seeking research positions, we highly encourage you to plan to watch the presentations for this year and read past abstracts to learn who has served as research mentors to past undergraduates.
